Antonios Bouritsas is an Occupational Therapist, graduate of the Occupational Therapy Department of the former Technological Educational Institute of Athens, Greece.
He is certified in Sensory Integration by the University of Southern California (USA) with specialization in Early Intervention and the Autism Spectrum.
He is also trained in the CO-OP Approach (Cognitive Orientation in daily Occupational Performance), TEACCH (Structured Teaching), PECS®, Functional ABA: Pyramid Approach to Education®, M.O.R.E., Quickshifts® (Therapeutic Listening), Social Stories™ 10.3, Brick-by-Brick® programme (formerly LEGO®-based Therapy), Sensory Stories, Magic Therapy™, Sexual Education for People in the Autism Spectrum, Snoezelen® MSE (MultiSensory Environments), Blackroll, Pilates, Kinesiology Taping and has attended numerous seminars, conferences and online courses including Medical Neuroscience, Social Psychology, Neurobiology of Everyday Life, Integrative Health and Medicine, Aromatherapy, Guided Imagery, Mindfulness, Splinting.
He is the creator of the Category «Εργοθεραπεία» (Occupational Therapy) in the Greek version of Wikipedia, where lemmas such as «Εργοθεραπεία» (Occupational Therapy), «Εργοθεραπευτής» (Occupational Therapist), «Δραστηριότητες Καθημερινής Ζωής» (Activities of Daily Living), «Διαταραχή Αισθητηριακής Επεξεργασίας» (Sensory processing disorder), «Θεραπεία Αισθητηριακής Ολοκλήρωσης» (Sensory integration therapy) and more are his own translations of their English version and the lemmas “Occupational Therapy in Greece” and “Panhellenic Association of Ergotherapists” have been originally created in Greek and then translated into English by him.
In 2012 he was elected member of the Board of the Hellenic Association of Ergotherapists. In the same year he received a congratulatory e-mail from the Minister of Education as the initiator and creator of the Ergotherapy Texts Translation Team.
During 2014 he worked in a Recovery & Rehabilitation Center with children, adults and elderly people.
Since 2015, he has been providing Occupational Therapy services to children and adolescents with developmental disorders (mainly in the autism spectrum).
He has been a teacher in Occupational Therapy Assistant departments of the Private Institutes of Vocational Training “IEK DELTA Thessaloniki” and “IEK AKMI“.
In December 2019 he was elected as a Representative in the 2nd Regional Department – Macedonia & Thrace of the Legal Entity of Public Law “Panhellenic Association of Ergotherapists“ for the triennial period 2019-2022.
